Yan Bai is a current doctoral student and graduate researcher at the Food Policy & Applied Nutrition Program of Tufts’ Friedman School of Nutrition. Before joining the Friedman School, Yan earned his Masters degree in International Business (MIB) at Tufts’ Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, focusing on International Finance and Global Health. Besides advancing his knowledge and insights on international affairs at the Fletcher School, he also developed solid skills of quantitative methods applied in health sectors by cross-registering at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Prior to his graduate education, Yan worked as an investment analyst at International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group based in Beijing, China, where he obtained rich industry experiences in healthcare, life sciences, and agriculture sectors in China, Southeast Asia, and Africa. In the summer of 2015, he worked as a summer consultant at the Global Health team of IFC’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., and completed comprehensive health sector studies for Indonesia and Mexico. Yan started his career as an investment banking analyst at the Rothschild Group. Yan also holds a Masters degree in Economics from Tufts University, and Bachelor degrees in Chemistry and Economics from Peking University (China).
